In February when metro Atlanta was under the gun for wintry weather, Ben Traylor Productions was called in to action for The Weather Channel. Over a two day period, Ben and his crew shot live shots, b-roll (video) and a variety of the two with the LiveU. Dave Malkoff was the meteorologist Ben worked with on the first day of the wintry weather. Dave and Ben covered the Mayor of Atlanta’s press conference. On the second day, Ben’s crew utilized the LiveU. The LiveU allows you to shoot live video without a satellite truck. Ben set the LiveU in the backseat and put the camera on a tripod in the front seat. The crew was able to capture video while driving, live, back to The Weather Channel where the anchors talked over the video. Here’s a short montage of the two day shoot.
